News - Queen Alexandra Hospital Home | nursing and rehabilition ...

On Thursday 24th May, a party from the Queen Alexandra Hospital Home had the privilege of attending a very special and honourable event ? the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. The party consisted of Chris Binns, Dixie Dean, Clifford Impett, Rene Barclay, Andy Watkins, Graham Brown and Ken Wormsley.

After a quick photo, residents and staff all dressed to the nines, climbed aboard the QAHH coach and departed for Buckingham Palace.

Every summer, Her Majesty the Queen hosts a number of Royal Garden Parties where guests have the rare chance to see the Royal family, whilst enjoying tea in the beautiful gardens at Buckingham Palace. The garden parties are held to recognise and reward outstanding public service.

Residents will take tea and cakes on the grounds of Buckingham Palace and bask in the sunshine as temperatures at the royal residence are set to soar to 28C. In attendance will be the Royal Family and Lords, Earls, Dukes, Duchesses and Ladies from the aristocratic British Society as well as a host of celebrities.

Activities and outings are a major part of life at QAHH. Visits in the past year have included? trips to London museums, the London Eye, Twickenham rugby ground for a number of international matches, Thames boat ride with the most popular being the Buckingham Palace Garden Party. ?It is a huge honour to be invited to the Garden Party, we all look forward to it.? commented one of our residents.
