Homey Home Design: Game Storage

? ? ?Where do you store board games at your house?

? ? ?Here we've always put them in the front hall closet on the shelf. I've never liked this location. The kids can't access them there and I'm forever up on a bar stool to get down just the right one hoping that an avalanche of games doesn't descend upon me!

? ? ?Because we've maxed out our space here another alternative wasn't available until we began to make a few changes in the living room. I'm not ready to show you all of the changes yet {and quite honestly there's still more to do} but I did want to show you what we came up with.

? ? ?Since this change is more exciting for us that it will be for you I thought I would share with you some other inspirational pictures from the web to give you some ideas for storing board games in your own home.

? ?
First off, here's where the games used to be:

Board games were up here

Card games were in here:

Now they are happily contained together in our new wall unit in the living room! Its not done yet so you will only get to see part of it, but here it is:

Here are some other great game storage ideas:

Large storage closet from Houzz How about using that understair space for game storage? This is from Storage and Glee The Pleated Poppy has some really cute vintage carts that she has used to store her family's games.

This laundry cart is also one of hers {while you are there check out her cute living room redo}:

A coffee table with storage is another great place to store games.

There are so many great options out there! Where do you store your games? Now that ours are more accessible to the kids they've been playing them a lot more and believe it or not I think the IPOD is getting a little dusty! ;)

I'm sharing this here:
